Jumperoo

When I was in Houston, my Mom decided that Presley was ready for the jumperoo. She loves to stand up, so we thought that this would be the perfect toy. Oh my goodness, she loved it!! As soon as I got home, I pulled the jumperoo we had here out for her. It's so funny. When she gets excited, she jumps like a little crazy woman. It also gives me a chance to get stuff done around the house while she's in it...woo hoo! AND....my baby will be 4 months old tomorrow!!! Craziness!! 4 month post to come.

Bachelorette Mayhem

Meet the bachelorette
Who also happens to be my sister.

I'm going to leave the details of the weekend to a minimum, but just to sum it up there might have been:

A little drinking

Strippers

A penis straw that was used by the bride to poke said strippers in their calf

Lingerie

Security called...more than once

A fireman skit involving mouth to mouth resuscitation

Some mad dance skills...the sprinkler, the hammer, the cabbage patch...performed in the middle of a bar and on stage. (Don't worry, Melissa. I won't tell anyone it was you).

Also, I will neither confirm, deny or elaborate on any of the above happenings. Now for pictures!

I'm Behind...

and can't seem to get caught up!

Dear Blog,

I sincerely apologize for the recent neglect. I promise I will get better about posting, but it will have to wait until next week. Between my sister's upcoming wedding, the trip to Houston and Austin, and my husband who works until midnight every night, there just isn't enough time in my day. When I finally do get time to post, I hope I can remember what it is that I want to write about.

My apologies,

Ashlie

A Year Ago Today...

I was sitting on my bathroom floor staring at two tiny pink lines. Two tiny pink lines that would completely change my life. Two tiny pink lines that meant I was pregnant.

Can you even see the other pink line?? Anyway, I knew in my heart that I was pregnant, so I tested really early. However, I prepared myself for only one pink line. I couldn't even look at the test up close when I walked back into the bathroom. I had to peek around the corner to where it was sitting. Well, of course, all I saw was 1 line. I walked over to pick it up and my heart completely stopped. There it was...that glorious second pink line. In all my life, I have never felt such a wild range of emotions, one of those being disbelief. So you know what I did?? I carried that stick around with me the entire day, so I could stare at it whenever I felt I needed another peek. And...this may be gross to some, but I still have that test sitting in my bathroom drawer. Yep, I never thought a stick with pee on it would mean so much to me.

A year later, I'm still in disbelief that those two tiny pink lines resulted in this tiny miracle.

And because I have turned into a mushy mommy, I'll leave you with this quote. It just seems so true.

Before you were conceived I wanted you
Before you were born I loved you
Before you were here I would die for you
This is the miracle of life.

I Get To...

One of my birth club Mama's recently wrote a blog that really touched me. Just to sum it up, she was inspired by an article in a magazine. It was about being thankful for all your to-do's, and changing your way of thinking from "I have to" to "I get to".

Anyway, I think this really hit home for me because I have had many nights recently with the "I have to's". Since Presley was about 2 weeks old, Brandon has been working until almost midnight every night. Some nights I am so completely exhausted and just want to get a tiny break from P. I know that's horrible to say, but being a Mama is tiring. However, I, like the lady in the article need to change my way thinking in those moments. I am so incredibly blessed to have a healthy baby girl who I love more than life itself. I get to stay home with her and be a part of everything she does. I also have a husband that comes home to me every night and loves his "girls" so much. Here are some other things I get to do:

*the dishes
*the laundry
*spend all day lovin' on P
*cook dinner
*make sure the bills are paid on time

I know it sounds silly, but I am so thankful that I am physically able to do all of these things!

Hoppy Easter!

First, I want to start out by saying that holidays are so much more fun with kids around. I realize that P didn't do a whole lot in the way of hunting eggs and such, but just being there made it so special. I can't believe next Easter she will be mobile...yikes!

I had to take full advantage of her tiny size and squish her into her Easter basket for pics. Check out those cute toes!

We also helped her go on her very first Easter egg hunt. She could hold on to the egg so that was exciting...well, for me anyway.

I also might have eaten all of the candy that she got. Not good for Mama's figure.

Playing with Presley after church. The girl loves to be outside!

Brandon's sister made it in from Georgia for Easter weekend and got to meet Miss Priss for the first time. What a special Easter!

After gorging ourselves on my father in law's BBQ, we got to visit Nana. Here is a four generation pic. Pretty cool!

What a wonderful first Easter!
