All Aboard!

Last Saturday, we all boarded a train to the North Pole. By all, I mean Grammie, Poppa, Aunt Brittani, Landon, Uncle Shai, Aunt Kadee, Alyssa, Lexi, and my crew. We were quite a group!

Before it was time to get on the train, we attempted to get some family pictures. I've pretty much given up hope of ever getting a decent family picture. We took five and these were the best two, oh well.

My little baby bundle watching the show before we boarded the train. Why yes, that is a passy in her mouth. She still isn't terribly thrilled about it, but likes it when she's sleepy. Previously, she would only take one from Grammie (the baby whisperer), but my passy pushing has worn her down.

 My sweet little nephew, Landon, clapping along to the music.

Once the show ended, we got to walk through a forest of Christmas trees, and it "snowed" on us. All the kids loved this! Then it was time to board the train.
Daddy with two very excited kiddos.

Santa payed us a visit while on the train, and gave everyone their very own bell.

I love the look on P's face in this picture. So excited to see Santa!

Even Harper got a bell of her very own.

We attempted a few more pictures with Grammie and Poppa, but Presley wasn't having it.

She really just wanted to check out the Christmas lights and drink her hot chocolate. I guess I can't blame her. It sounds way more fun then posing for another picture.

( We did this last year, and loved it. If you are near Grapevine during the holiday season, I highly reccommend visiting the North Pole Express).

Wordless Wednesday: Santa's in Town

(pardon the pic quality. I just scanned the pics in to the computer)

"What's she saying" Wednesday

Somedays I completely forget that Presley is just 2. A lot of times, I feel like I'm having a conversation with a teenager. I can only imagine the drama that is to come. Here is an example of some of things she has said recently that crack me up (even when I probably shouldn't be laughing).

Presley: "If you don't be nice I'm going to break your phone, and you'll cry berry loud".

Me: EXCUSE ME, YOUNG LADY?!? (I was completely shocked at her threat. I'm not sure where she would even come up with that??)

Presley: (after realizing she was going to get in trouble for her statement) "But I'm not going to do it right now...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After going round and round with Presley about something, I finally told Presley, "I don't have all the answers". She contemplated my statement, and then retorted with, "well, I have all MY answers".
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Me: "Presley, it's time to turn Cinderella off".

Presley: "NO, Stepmother! If you turn my show off I will die".
( I could not stop laughing after that one. She will occasionally call me stepmother too. Maybe we need to lay off Cinderella, ha!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Instead of saying, "Ladies and Gentlemen". Presley says, "ladies and Jigglemen". I love it! She also calls hand sanitizer "hanitizer". Which, we all now call it. It's just easier to say.
Season. Finished.
The Tator Tots 1st season has come to an end. Honestly, I'm a tad relieved. Soccer isn't really Presley's thing apparently. The one thing she really did enjoy was the team pictures.
Everyone was told to put their hands on their knees. P felt she had a better pose, so we went with it. Here is a close up, just in case you can't see.
That's my Presley...
Wiggin' Out
Presley and Jackson happened upon a few wigs at my Aunts house.
They were having so much fun that my 91 year old grandma wanted to get in on the action.
 And while Harper was just content to chew on a plate that day...
She is certainly no stranger to a wig.
LEAVES
While at the park last week, I sat Harper in a little pile of leaves.  She was incredibly fascinated. I couldn't get her to even look at me for the first 20 minutes. She kept picking them up, and trying to put them in her mouth. Then I would frantically swat them away. This played out over and over and over.
I'm pretty sure Harper managed to get a few licks in. Don't judge, when else in life do you get to look this cute licking a leaf??
Phone Dump Friday: Kema Edition
The day before everyone came down with the flu, we made a trip to the Kema boardwalk. Our first stop was the stingray tank. They gave you fish to feed them, but I was a chicken, ha! Mom and Mel were the only ones brave enough.
Presley preffered to watch them through the window (like her Momma).
Harper was fascinated with the fish! She kept trying to grab them through the tank.
After surviving the stingray's, it was time for some rides!
All Aboard!
These two are either fighting or best friends. Glad they chose this day to be so loving.
Unfortunately, they also shared germs...
Harper: 5 months!
I can't believe I'm already writing this post! Seriously. I didn't even realize today was her 5 month birthday until later. Why must babies grow so fast the first year???
At 5 Months, Harper is:
  • Sitting up
  • Thoroughly enjoying rice cereal
  • Loves to blow raspberries/bubbles, which makes for a slobbery mess. When she gets mad, she blows some really good ones.
  • In her crib. I'm still not sure how I feel about this. I kind of liked her sleeping in my room.
  • Has 2 her bottom teeth. Both decided to come in at the same time, poor baby.
  • My great sleeper is now not so great. She goes down around 9:30 and is back up around 2:30 or 3. Then is up at 6, and usually for good around 8:30 am.
  • Is still my super smiley/ happy go lucky little babe
  • has gotten some new peach fuzz. I'm still not sure what color her hair will be??? Some is coming in almost white, but then has some dark mixed in.
  • Grabs at everything. Nothing is safe within arms reach.
  • Gets distracted so easily now, especially when her big sis is around. Sometimes I have to feed Harper in a separate room from P just to get through a feeding in a timely manner.
  • Is still in size 2 diapers
  • Is wearing 6 months, 6-9 months, and 6-12.
  • really belly laughs when tickled or when Presley is around. No one can get her to laugh like my sweet P.
  • Showing signs she wants to be mobile. Put her on the ground, and she will get her legs going!
  • Looks at me and grabs my face with both hands. This is probably my most favorite thing ever!!!
Harper Grace, you are my squishy little ball of joy! I can't believe you will be half a year old next month!!! We love you sooooo much, sweet girl.
(This post has been written for a couple weeks. I just got behind on the picture. At least I got it taken before she turned 6 months.)
Halloween 2012
I'm behind! We went out of town right after Halloween, and then everyone came down with the flu. We are on the mend, so here is my attempt to catch up. Hopefully, I'll get Harper's 5 month post up before she turns 6 months...
Now back to our Halloween...
It was Mimi's turn to spend Halloween with us. Which worked out perfect because she was able to be there for both of the girl's 1st Halloween's. During the day we decorated  a cinderella pumpkin, and then attempted to build a Haunted Halloween village. I couldn't get the icing to hold the houses together, so I just let Presley decorate them flat. She clearly didn't seem to mind.
Harper girl was content to watch this year. Next year, will be a whole new ball game.
I made the mistake of letting Presley consume massive amounts of sugar. She was so wired!!! She just kept running around like a mad woman, so I gave up on getting a good picture of her in her costume. Luckily, Harper was willing to model part of it for us.
After everyone was in costume, I made the girls take some pictures in the neighborhood. Presley was still in a mood, and her costume just happened to be very fitting with her attitude. We eventually got her to cooperate for a few. Momma was ready for a drink after that though...
Just in case you couldn't tell, Presley was a punk witch and Harper was a little black cat. I was really hoping to have this last year to be able to pick Presley's costume, but she fell in love with the witch costume. Who am I to deny her??? Honestly, I'm pretty sure she just chose it because of the broom (which turned into a weapon).
After pics, we got together with the neighbors and headed out to Trick or Treat. Presley loved it so much this year! She would have stopped at every house in Rockwall if I would have let her. Harper and her BFF hung for a while too, but preferred a bath and bottle to the candy.
After convincing Presley it was time to call it a night, we headed back home for Jack-o-lantern pizza, and Halloween candy. Another wonderful Halloween has come and gone. I can't believe it's almost Thanksgiving?!?
