A Royal Birthday Morning

We set up in royal style for our little big birthday princess.

We probably should have given her a minute to wake up before she made her way out the door. Presley was less than thrilled.

But it didn't take her long to get over it after seeing her chocolate donut with 3 candles on top.

Then it was time to open presents (Presley's favorite part).

Princess Merida shoes because this princess can not go shoeless!

Happy birthday morning to the most beautiful 3 year old princess in all the land!

Our {own} Little Christmas Celebration

Before we head out for our big Christmas celebration with all my family, we wanted to have a small one at home with just the 4 of us. Everyone got into their pajamas except for Brandon (he's anti-pajama pants, but thankfully, not anti-Christmas shirt), and got ready to celebrate!

This picture was taken with a self timer. We told Presley she had to smile if she wanted to open a present, and look what happened!?! I'll be taking advantage of that throughout the holiday. As for Harper, she is always smiling. ALWAYS.

I was testing out the focus on my self timer earlier in the evening, and came out with a pretty cute pic of my sweet Harper girl.

We decided we would make homemade pizza for dinner before opening presents. Presley loves cheese almost as much as presents, so this was a win-win for her.

After dinner, it was time to open presents. This year we had Presley pick a present for Harper and Harper (and Mommy/Daddy) pick out a present for P. This was one of my favorite traditions as a kid, so I was excited to carry it on with my little's.

Check out Harper's eyes in this pic. Apparently, the sound of ripping wrapping paper is quite terrifying. She burst into tears immediately after this picture was taken.

Presley got the Elefun game, and of course, we had to play it immediately!

Then it was time for Brandon and I to exchange gifts.

Brandon got me some new boots. They are so cute, but you can't really tell here. He picked them out on his own. I was VERY impressed.

I got him a new driver. He's trying to up his golf game.

Then we ended the night by baking and decorating sugar cookies.

This was such a special little celebration. I can't wait to head to Houston to start the festivities with the whole family!

Christmas card(s) 2012

Depending on where you fell in my address book (and like most people, mine is not in alphabetical order. It's completely random.) or how early I recieved your card, depends on which card you received from us.

This was my original card. I had some really great offer codes from Shutterfly that I cashed in on. Unfortunately, I only ordered 30. I don't know why I thought that would be even close to enough. I didn't even think to save one for us. Therefore, the picture below was taken by my cellphone off of the computer.

This was the second card I ordered. I realize I could have just reordered from Shutterfly, but I couldn't stand to pay more for the same cards. Cardstore just happened to have an amazing deal on cards the day I needed to reorder (.15 cents a card on good quality card stock), so here is our second card. Next year, I will get it together...
Either way, Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Harper: 6 months

6 month stats:
Height: 27'' (90th percentile)
weight: 16 lbs. 14oz. (between the 50-75th percentile)

Dear Harper,
I sincerely apologize that I'm just now getting to your 6 month post considering your almost 7 months. In my defense, I took you to Disney World, so all should be forgiven.
Love,
Your Momma

Here is what Harper has been up to:

  • Harper is VERY distractible! Any noise or sound is super interesting.
  • Crawls backwards and upside down (she lays on her back and scoots herself with her feet).
  • Gets on her hands and knees from a sitting position and rocks. No crawling yet though.
  • is super laid back and easy going. She just goes with the flow.
  • Smiles at anyone and anything.
  • Loves to stick her tongue out all the time.
  • has started to have a little bit of seperation anxiety if I hand her off or leave a room. That's when the whole distractible element comes in handy, and she is fine within seconds.
  • has started solids. So far she has had green beans, squash, carrots, peas, sweet potatoes, pears, apples, and bananas (and seems to love all of them).
  • has 3 teeth. 2 on the bottom and one on the top.
  • Laughs very easily now, especially when she's tickled
  • Plays peek-a-boo. It's pretty much the cutest thing ever.
  • Sleeping from 7:30-8pm to 8am-ish.
  • Is still leaving us guessing on hair color. It gets light then dark. Then has both dark and light together. Then it's red. Who knows???
  • Is now on formula full time (Yes, my poor second child, I'm a bad Mom).
  • kicks her chubby little legs when she gets excited.
  • Is experimenting with lots of new sounds and babble. Dadada, and Bababa are her two favs right now. Gurgling is also a big hit with you.
  • hugs me super tight when I pick her up in the morning. I love this soooo much.
  • is still the happiest baby ever.
  • and as usual, is still completely smitten with her big sister.
Oh my sweet little Harper girl,
You are my little squishy bundle of joy! I would really like to just bottle you up and keep you this size forever. I guess you must grow up though. Let's see what next month brings...

Friday Phone Dump: Disney Edition

At the airport, waiting to head to Disney World!

Landed and both girls did great! Presley making her way through the Orlando airport with Grammie and Poppa.

After meeting up with Aunt Brittani, Uncle Heath, and cousin Landon, we headed to downtown Disney. While waiting for a table at T-Rex, we played at lego land.

Making a penny with Aunt Brittani

Finally, our table was ready at T-Rex. This restaurant was soooo cool! It reminded me a lot of Rainforest Cafe, but better.

Here is some video I took:

Ready for day 1 at Magic Kingdom!

On Main street. Presley was a little too fascinated with Cinderella's castle to look at the camera.

Fantasy land opened 2 days before we arrived. Perfect timing! We got to go into Ariel's grotto and meet her. P was a little shy at first, but warmed up pretty fast.

This is a dole whip float, not the same as a dole whip. It's a long (funny) story, but I just wanted to clear that up for anyone that may be confused.

This is what a day at disney will do.

Grammie and Poppa got us tickets to Mickey's very merry Christmas party. We got to stay for the parade at night, and an amazing laser and fireworks show on Cinderella's castle. It was so awesome!

Watching the fireworks with my sweet P.

Kisses under the castle.

I only have 2 pics from day 2 at Magic Kingdom. This picture made us laugh. Apparently, the tram ride is good enough for Presley. If we had known that ahead of time, we could have saved a lot of money.

We took Presley to the Bippity Boppity Princess Boutique for a surprise Cinderella makeover. She was completely pampered! Presley was so worn out from Disney that she fell asleep when they asked her to close her eyes to put eyeshadow on. Here is the finished product:
Brandon thought her up-do looked a little painful. It was a little more slicked and tight then I would have preferred, but Presley liked it (and that's all that matters).

We spent our last day at Downtown Disney. As you can see, Presley still has her Cinderella dress on and hair-do from the day before.

We had the most wonderful trip aside from a few epic meltdowns, but I guess that was to be expected. I can't wait to go back again!
