Friday Phone Dump: Harper's 1st birthday Edition

I don't have time to "dump" the whole week, so I thought I would just stick to Harper's actual Birthday.

When we heard her sweet little voice over the monitor, Brandon and I busted into her room singing "Happy Birthday". Then we dumped a whole trash bag of balloons into her crib. It was awesome. She thought so, too.

Then Daddy and Presley got Donuts and coffee (thank you, Jesus). Presley picked out a very special donut for her sister, but decided that she really wanted it instead. Harper didn't seem to mind.

My mom came in from Houston, and Brandon's parents came over to celebrate Harper's special day. I took advantage of all the extra hands and put them to work for H's cake smash photo shoot. Harper did not enjoy the cake smashing near as much as I thought. This child loves to eat, so I thought she would be in heaven. Oh, well. I still got some really cute pictures.

We opened a few presents (one of them was the wagon that's in the pictures from my previous post), and sang "Happy Birthday" with the remaining smash cake. Yes, I saved it. That was some good cake! Harper's favorite part was blowing out the candles.
This little angel had a fabulous 1st birthday, and it's not over yet. Tomorrow is party day!

She's ONE!

Well, it finally happened.

This past Sunday you, my baby, turned one.

I can not put into words the joy you have brought to our family.

Your sweet, toothy grin lights up our day.

We are spoiled with your generous cuddles and kisses.

Your sway back, round tummy, bowlegged sumo walk will never get old.

From the time I first held you, and every day after that has been a blessing.

We love you to the moon and back, Harper girl.

Happy happy happy 1st birthday!

Friday Phone Dump

Another Phone dump...on a Friday... Bam!

Blurry, but cute. Good friends and ice cream. Who could ask for more!?!

H is OBSESSED with raspberries. I'm going broke trying to keep up with her habit. She recently discovered she can stick her finger in the little hole, and hold them that way. She was very rpoud of herself.

So...every day Presley gets up, takes off her PJ's, and immediately dresses herself. I'm not going to lie. 90% of the time her outfits are questionable at best. This one below just shocked me, and especially her Daddy. It was like a flash forward into her high school years. I could see her trying to leave the house in something like this, and her Father flipping his lid. At least it matched for a change...

On Saturday, we celebrated Founder's Day in Rockwall. They had lots of free activities for the kids, live music, arts & crafts, and food trucks. It was hot so we opted for smoothies. Harper wouldn't stop drinking long enough to get a picture.

Presley and I kicked back listening to the music.

They also had pet adoptions. This was Presley's "can I please have a puppy" face. It didn't work on Mommy.

We came back later that evening to see the Casey Donahue band. My sweet friend Secily brought beer, and Prosecco (my fav). We were sitting on the lawn of the Old  Rockwall County Courthouse, and drinking. This needed to be documented. This was legal for the event. I'm rule follower by nature, but I still felt a little rebellious.

The girls hanging with Daddy.

One of my dearest friends, Tifany, had her 1st baby this week. Originally, she shared a Due date with Harper's Birthday, but looks like Miss Elena Grace decided she wanted to come early. Isn't she beautiful!?!

I made a hair appointment not thinking that Presley's MDO would have already let out for the summer. Luckily, I have an amazing hairdresser with lots of patience. This was Presley's face when Nikki asked her if she wanted to mix my hair color. A real smile caught on camera. These are rare, people!

Harper trying to figure out what those foils are doing on my head.

Mixing color with Miss Nikki. Who know my hair appointment could be so fun!

and applying the dark underneath. Can you see her through my hair and foils?

Harper kept sneaking sips of Presley's chocolate malt. She would look at Presley then give me this look.  Ha! Little stinker knew she wasn't supposed to.

Any guesses on who might be into climbing onto things. She did not get up here on her own (and don't worry, I had extra hands close by so I could get a picture). She did, however, manage to climb on top of the playroom table all by herself. Yikes! These girls are a handful!
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Memorial Day weekend. This time last year I was ready to pop, and wondering when Harper was going to make her debut. I can't believe it's almost been a year. I guess time flies when your having fun (or have your hands full with 2 kiddos)!

Harper: 11 Months

In 6 days, this little love will be ONE!!! I can NOT believe it. Honestly, it makes me really sad. However, I am so thankful that I only have one more picture to take of Harper on her back. This is getting ridiculously hard. As you can see, the bow was eliminated. She can rip one off her head faster than you can blink. Poor piggy is barely in the picture, and we are on our 3rd onesie because I keep loosing them. Phewwww!

Now onto what my squishy baby love has been up to at 11 months:
  • She has become very vocal when she wants something. Notice I said vocal and not verbal. She grunts, yells, whines, and screams when she wants something.
  • She does sign "more" and "all done", but that's it. My sanity is begging for me to teach her more sign.
  • Doesn't care much for her bottles. She just wants "human" food. All. The. Time. She loves everything. Seriously, everything. If I had to choose a fav, it would be raspberries. She sometimes eats 2 cartons a day. She even seems to enjoy the healthy food as much as the not so healthy. Now you know why baby got back.
  • Loves to dance. Her newest move is turning round in circles until she's dizzy and falls down.
  • Will climb and onto anything with no fear, but is terrified to step down the tiniest ledge.
  • Has a very abnormal fear of inflatable pools even with no water in them???
  • Throughly enjoys waving "hello", and "goodbye".
  • Forget walking. We're onto running.
  • Speaking of walking, Harper is so bow-legged. It cracks me up to watch her walk around.
  • Sadly, I have no idea how many teeth she has. I just know it's a lot.
  • Still sticking to her 2 naps a day, and a bedtime of 7:30-8.
  • Loves to snuggle up to me
  • Very into putting things in and taking things out. Makes for a messy house.
  • Still hates diaper/clothes changes. I imagine it's very similar to calf wrangling.
  • Gives lots of kisses. She puckers up, makes the kissy noise, and then goes in with a wide open mouth.
  • "pat-pats" her babies
  • Mostly wearing 12 months, and some 18 months, and have finally moved onto a size 3 shoe.
  • Outside is her favorite place to be. As soon as I say it, she is running towards the door.
  • is still mostly laid back and easy going.
  • Completely adores her big sister, but is able to fight back when Presley gets rough with her. Homegirl can hold her own!
I can never write enough in these posts. Seriously, I could go on and on. I will probably come back and add to this at least 3 more times.

Oh my sweet Harper girl, this year has gone by way too fast. Each month you have brought more fun, love, and laughter into our house. The next post I write you will officially be a toddler and not a baby. Although, I will only refer to you as "baby". We love you soooooooooo much, little one.

Friday Phone dump: Mother's Day Edition

Brandon and the girl's had my Mother's day celebration on Saturday (the day before Mother's day) because we were going out. Which meant Presley and Harper were staying the night at Grammie and Poppa's. I forgot to take a picture of the roses and my present (new workout gear), but I thought both cards were hilarious. Presley's is very interesting??? It's the one with the diamonds all over it.

Brandon's card was so sweet! I don't want to embarrass him, so I'll just show his hashtags.

They all cooked breakfast for me, and it was delicious! The best part was they cleaned everything up, as well. I hate doing dishes! Harper enjoyed playing under the table while we ate.

My brother even had flowers delivered to me! He's pretty awesome.

Later that day, we drove our to Grammie and Poppa's to drop the girls off for the night. Then Brandon and I headed off to see Eli Young, Eric Church, and Kenny Chesney in concert.

The next day was Mother's day and I got sleep in!!! It was amazing. We spent the afternoon with Brandon's parents and my two favorite little girl's. I didn't get very many cell phone pics, but did get some with the good camera. Go me! Love that my baby still wants to follow me everywhere. It's going to be a sad day when I'm not the center of her world anymore...

The rest of the week was super busy, but the weather was awesome (minus the night we had 13 tornado's touch down in DFW)! We played outside every chance we got.

Presley had her end of the year program. It was so cute! Harper had to attend to a few business calls before it began.

A special treat for the star performer.

Thursday was Presley's last day of school. I had a newborn shoot that morning, so I didn't get a chance to take a pic. Oh, well. This week was super busy, and next week should be about the same. My baby is turning ONE next Sunday!!!!!
