Today, my sis-n-law, Brittani, surprised me with a new blog header that she designed. She even came up with the super cute saying. I guess after reading the blog post below she figured I could use a little help. Anyway, just wanted to be a little bragadocious ( thank you, Dane Cook, for introducing that word into my vocabulary). She did an awesome job, and now I feel like my blog page is finally complete! Woo Hoo! Did I mention she is super talented? In fact, the entire Souders family has more talent than should be allowed. I really hope Presley inherits some of it because she isn't gettin' anything from me.
Thanks for helping a sista' out, Brittani!

Backgrounds and Such
I realize that I change my blog background as much as I change Miss P's diapers. I just can't seem to find one that I love. This new one is called "Anthropology". Since that is one of my most favorite stores, I took it as a sign. Hopefully, this one will stick. I'm getting as sick of changing them as you are seeing them change (did that make any sense?).

My Little Valentine

Brandon had to work all day on Valentines, so it was just me and Miss Priss all day. Of course, we had to do a quick Valentines photo shoot, and then we pretty much snuggled the rest of the day. As far as my big Valentine goes, we are going to celebrate this Saturday. I can't wait! I really cherish the time that Brandon and I get to spend together, just the two of us. However, we are usually discussing Presley and missing her like crazy, but it's cherished none the less. And what would a blog from me be without leaving you with more pictures?? By the way, my writing has gone completely down hill since having Presley. I'm usually typing frantically ,so I can finish before she wakes up from nap time. My apologies...

Home Sweet Home
Presley and I took our first trip to Houston together this past week. Technically, Miss Priss has been to Houston many times, but this was the first time she was on the outside. Let me tell you, it was a lot harder that way! It took me two days to pack all the things that a baby might require. Anyway, Presley got to meet almost all of my family and even a few of my friends. We aren't going to talk about how she behaved the day my friends came (sorry Megan and Morgan), but she was great the day my family came in. By great, I mean she pretty much slept the entire time.
This trip was also great because my parents and sister pretty much took care of her (and me) the entire time. It was soooooo wonderful! I honestly can not thank them enough for all their help. Of course, the trip was made even better because I got to see my most favorite boy in the entire world.
Just a warning...I have become obsessed with documenting every second of Presley's life (I try not to, but I can't help it), so here are a thousand pics of everyone getting to hold Miss Priss for the first time.
Yes, presley called Mamaw before hand to make sure they were color coordinated. My brother(in the pic below) got to hold her the day she was born, but they're too cute together not to post another picture.
Are you still there after all the pictures?? If you are, first, thank you and second, here's some more!
Let me preface by saying we were all a little worried about how Jackson might react to Presley. Well, he was soooo sweet with her. He would pat on her and lay his head on her tiny belly (ughh, tear). However, he wanted everything she had. For example, he suddenly wanted to drink out of a bottle and was constantly trying to take her pink passy from her. He would also climb in her lamb seat, use her boppy, and swipe her pink blanket. It was hilarious!
Jackson patting his new cousin's bottom
And yes, after almost a week, he finally swiped Presley's passy. He was pretty siked about it.
Just Rockin' with Mimi and Presley
Don't say I didn't warn you... more pics (very random ones I might add).
This one makes me laugh. Not sure if she liked what she saw in the mirror or not?
Daddy Bob and Presley recovering from a long night. I'm pretty sure Daddy Bob's night was a lot more exciting.
She's started smiling and I got the tail end of one on camera!
Presley snuggling with her Mimi.
Pardon her unladylike pose.
It's always so good getting to go back home. Time always seems to go by so fast when I'm there. Can't wait for the next trip home with my little travel buddy.

Let it Snow...

Let it snow, let it snow!
We woke up to a winter wonderland this morning and the snow hasn't let up yet. I know lots of people are ready for spring, but I love the cold. I took full advantage of all the snow and had a winter play day. Should I have gotten my 6 week old baby girl out in the snow?? Probably not. However, you can clearly see how much she enjoyed it!

One Month

Dear Presley Elizabeth,
In your short one month, you sure have changed our lives. I mean, who would have ever thought I would think someone's toots could be adorable, or that I would be over the moon for enough poopy diapers. Words like Butt, fart, and pee now sound horribly vulgar to my "mommy ears". This, I might add, is coming from someone who used to get in trouble for having a potty mouth. We have become quite a musical family. Daddy and I sing to you all the time. Sometimes frantically to stop you from crying. I also realized I could use a refresher course in lullabies, nursery rhymes and baby songs in general. I tend to half sing/ half hum because I have forgotten some of the words.
In one month, you have developed so much. Now that we can fully submerge you, you love bath time. You used to cry when you got in, and now you cry when we take you out. Crying during diaper changes has become a thing of the past. Thank goodness! You have also become quite vocal, especially when your sleeping. I mean, you are seriously loud! When I talk to you, you coo back but for the most part, your grunting. You have also begun to track things with your eyes. Everyday, I have some sort of toy shoved in your face so you get lots of practice. Tummy time is another part of our daily routine, and I must say, you rock! You hold your head up like a champ. Of course, with such a tiny head, you do have a slight advantage. You are also sleeping better. You now give mommy 3.5 to 4 hour stretches at night. Two nights ago you slept for 5 hours!!! However, instead of waking up refreshed, I was completely panicked that something was wrong.
In one month, you have grown so much. According to my scale, you are now 9.5lbs. It's starting to show a little bit, too. You have the cutest chub wrinkles on your thighs, and your belly has gotten big and round. Your newborn clothes are getting too small, but I refuse to put them away just yet.Even your hair seems to be getting longer. Speaking of your hair, we have dubbed it the Kate Gosselin hairdo. I either don't know what I'm doing. or you have a really bad cowlick in the back of your head.
In one month, YOU have made us better. YOU have taught us the meaning of being completely selfless. YOU have expanded our hearts more than we ever thought possible. YOU have taught us patience and teamwork. YOU are our everything, Miss Priss. We can't wait to see what YOU will do next month.
Love,
your Mommy and Daddy
