7 Months!

7 months!!! Oh geez!

Dear Sweet P,

This month has by far been the most fun watching your grow. You are really starting to discover all the wonderful things this big world has to offer. You've gotten a tiny taste (literally...everything in the mouth)and you can't seem to get enough. I would be lying, though, if I said I wasn't the tiniest bit sad. 7 months just seems so much older than 6.

You are a little ham. That's right, Miss Personality with a capitol P! Everywhere we go, you are constantly smiling and laughing at people. You will go to almost anyone unless your hungry or tired. Only Mama will do during those times. When your in a good mood you blow lots of raspberries and click your tongue. You love to pat, pat, pat anything and everything.I, especially love when you pat me. Just this week, you started waving "bye-bye" and you pretty much do it anytime we ask...except, of course, when the camera's on.

Your still my little wiggle worm, and constantly moving. While your not crawling yet, you manage to scoot, roll, and pull yourself where you need to go. Pulling up is one of your new talents, and you love to do it. A lot of times, you grab hold of my pant legs to pull up on. I quickly learned to start tying my pajama bottoms extra tight! In the mornings, you sit yourself up in your crib and turn on your "little Soother" sound machine. This is great for Mommy because an entertained Presley means more sleep time for me! Speaking of mornings, you always start my day off right. As soon as I peak over the crib, you grin from ear to ear and start kicking your legs. When I pick you up, you squeeze me around the neck so tight. I. Love. This.

Oh P, you love the cats. You "talk" to them all the time and kick your legs anytime you see them. I hate to break it to you, but they are terrified of you...like really terrified. You know what Mommy is terrified of? That you will never sleep through the night again. You used to sleep all night and take no naps. Now you are a great napper, but waking up at least once at night. On the bright side, you have started to go down for the night so easily. Yes, you still fight sleep, but nothing like you used to.

Well, baby girl, it looks like I've written a book and sadly, I could keep going (yes, I'm completely serious). However, I'll spare you. We love you to the moon and back, and can't wait to see what this month brings.

Love,
Mommy

Why, Oh Why...

This morning I did something bad...very very bad. I decided to go to the Mud Pie website (My very favorite clothing line for little girls) and check out their Christmas line. At first, I thought I had died and gone to Heaven. Then when I realized that Presley needed to have almost everything, It's more likely I will be going to the poor house. I'm pretty sure P will be dressed in red and green the entire month of December. Heck, I might even get crazy and start the very end of November. Who knows?? I mean...get outta here with those cable knit booties

It's too much!

Oh, Mondays...

Most Mondays I wake up feeling kind of blah. Not, however, as blah as I did while I was working. Today, though, I woke up feeling super excited. I'm not exactly sure what about...well, there is something I have a feeling about, but I can't share it ( and it has nothing to do with me. Sorry to leave you hanging).

Anywhoo, P woke up fever free (hooray) and a fantabulous photographer just happened to post the pics she took of us a couple of weeks ago. I love them dearly! Wanna see? Check out her photography blog here. She just so happens to be one of Brandon's long time family friends, and I just so happened to have blog stalked her here. Thank you, Cassie, for taking such great pics and not being afraid of me;)

Welp, the pictures inspired me to change my blog background and header. It's still a work in progress, especially the header. P woke up earlier than expected from her nap, so I'll have to finish another day.

I also splurged a tad on amazon.com this weekend and am awating 4 ( yes, 4) very exciting packages!! The one that I'm most excited about is my new camera lens. Unfortunately, this is the one that is supposed to arrive last. Oh, well...

Last, but not least. Miss Priss started waving "Bye, Bye" this morning. She was halfway doing it last week, but there was no mistaking it today.

Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!!
(I'm aware this was a very random post)

The Thermometer Goes Where?

Oh my gracious, do I have a sick little girl! This is the first time in her almost 7 months that she has really been sick. Let me tell you, it's no fun. No fun for Mama and especially no fun for baby! Presley has been truly pitiful, right down to the sad little whimpering noises that she makes. Want to know what makes being sick even more pitiful? Having to stick a thermometer in a place where no thermometer should have to go. Brandon is truly grossed out. In fact, he can't even watch. In an attempt to make temperature taking more enjoyable for everyone, I bought a 1 second ear thermometer. To my dismay, I can not for the life of me get it to take a correct temperature. I'm sure it is something I'm doing, but until i figure it out...you know what's going you know where.

If anyone would like to make a thermometer recommendation, that doesn't require going where the sun doesn't shine, I would be much obliged.

Guess who?

Guess who's beautiful face is now peering over the crib each morning?
And Guess who can sit herself up unassisted?
And guess who decided that pulling up would be way more fun then napping?

And Guess who I found STANDING in her crib instead of sleeping?
And guess who's crib is getting lowered tonight????

6 month stats

Well, the stats are in! Looks like Miss P is trucking right along the middle.

Height:25 3/4in (5oth%)
Weight:15.7lbs (25th-50th%)
Head:43.5cm (25th%)

I was shocked to find out P's weight percentile! I guess those chunkalicious thighs aren't quite as chunkalicious as I thought. Anyway, little P is doing great and looking as healthy as can be. Of course, we got the dreaded round of vaccines, yuck! P did so wonderful though. Her face turned tomato red as it always does, and she cried for a few seconds...and then...A SMILE. Hooray! On another note, if you have met my daughter, you know she is a busy girl. This was confirmed by her doctor today. I believe her exact words were "Wow, she's a busy girl". "Tell ME about it", was my reply. Our pediatrician thinks this has a lot to do with why P fights sleep so hard (and by hard, I mean screaming her head off for a REALLY long time). She just has trouble winding herself down. Anywhoo, the doc recommended I start putting her to bed earlier, so I guess I'm going to start tonight. We shall see. Well, I'm off to attempt to wrangle my ever moving child, and bake the hubs a birthday cake at the same time. Just in case anyone is interested, I would like a third arm for MY birthday...which is in October...on the 18th...okay I'm done.

Almost done...Remember if you are entering the giveaway to leave a separate comment for each one that you are entitled ex: I'm following your blog (1 comment), I would buy the Dallas cowboys onesie (1 comment). I don't want anyone missing out! Good luck!

Happy Independence Day!

Presley's first 4th was a success! My sister, brother in law and nephew drove up from Houston to spend the holiday with us. We had planned on going to "Que fest" all day on the 4th, but when we got there it was closed because of possible thunderstorms. Ummm...the day was beautiful and there wasn't a cloud insight...I'm just sayin. Anyhoo, we all kind of looked at each other wondering what we were going to do with the rest of our day. My brother in law, Justin, came up with a genious idea. Slip-N-Slide. I just so happen to have the perfect backyard for it. In fact, I'm pretty sure that it was designed just for a slip-n-slide. So us Momma's sent the Daddy's to the store, and instead of coming home with a traditional slipe-n-slide...they surprised us with a big blue tarp and baby shampoo?? I guess they had something bigger, better and a tad more ghetto in mind.

We spent the rest of the day slipping and sliding, literally. Then ended it with some takeout pizza, smores, fireworks and dancing...with sparklers.

Happy 4th of July!
(and yes, P did have 3 fourth of July outfits. If you think that's bad, wait until Christmas.)
