Presley's 3rd Birthday Party

So, we had P's 3rd birthday party a tad late...like almost a month late. She almost didn't have one because we just had so much going on including a trip to Disney. BUT...this was the first year she really expressed an interest in her party. Including where she wanted to have it. We may have had a difference of opinions on that one, but it was her party not mine.

Without further a do, Presley's Princess Chuck E. Cheese Birthday party:

The invite picked with the help of Presley, of course.

Sneaking a little taste of her cake when she thought no one was looking...

Speaking of cake, my very favorite cake lady has retired. I'm so sad, but this Costco cake tasted surprisingly good.

Getting her birthday crown from the man himself, Chuck E. Cheese

All eyes for daddy during the birthday song.

Some very intense candle blowing.

Chuck E.Cheese was a tad crazy. Okay, a lot crazy. In fact, I may have used the word Clusterf**k to describe it. I think the kids may have thought so too because they spent a lot of their time playing here instead of where all the games were.

We ended the party in the ticket blaster. For those of you lucky people who are unfamiliar, it's a big tube that blows tickets in the air and you try and get as many as possible. We came out with 1300 tickets!

And right before it was time to pack up the leftover cake and go, I caught somebody sneaking some more cake. Not to name any names, JACKSON WADE.

Happy Birthday party day, Sweet P. Momma will do much better planning next year.

He's a Keeper

While my blog is mainly reserved for the girls and family events, I feel like Brandon deserves a little shout out here and there. He's a keeper. I knew that when I met him. After almost 8 years of marriage and two children later, I feel that more than ever.

I think every parent has a moment with a child when they are doing something, and you just feel so much love for them in that moment. Do you know what I'm talking about, Mom's? I have those moments with Brandon, but never write about them. I'm not a fan of getting all mushy. It makes me feel weird, so I'll keep it light.

Yesterday morning, Presley put her Cinderella necklace on Brandon before he left for work. She was very adamant that he wear it all day. With equal enthusiasm, Brandon agreed and proudly walked out the door and into his car with that necklace shinning around his neck.

I had completely forgotten about Presley's request until Brandon walked back through the door 8 hours later with Presley's necklace still around his neck. She was so thrilled that Daddy had worn it all day! That little gesture had meant so much to her. It just made my heart melt for him that he remembered to put it back on before he got home.

He does little things like that all the time.

His girls are so lucky.

4 Christmases

Yes. Christmas was almost a month ago, blah...

Here is my super late and super quick, but with lots of pictures Christmas post.

Our 1st Christmas celebration was actually blogged about here. Go me!
The next day we packed up, and headed out to Houston to spend the holidays with my family.

Every Christmas Eve is spent with my Dad's side of the family.

We had a wonderful time filled with family, margaritas, and mexican food! The addition of two new family members made it even better.

Santa Claus found us at Mimi and Daddy Bob's house the next morning. He's good like that...

Presley's big Santa gift was a princess bike, and Harper's was a toy vanity. Jackson also got a bike. Good planning there on Santa's part. After the kids got all of their Santa, it was time to get outside and give those new bikes a try.

and what would Christmas be without a full on melt down by Presley...

After all the bike riding excitement, it was time for our family to open presents.

We even had time for a little mini photo shoot. Anyone notice who's individual picture I didn't get???

It's okay. I guess she was feeling bad about it because she asked me to take a picture with her later that afternoon.

That evening it was Christmas with my Mom's side. I didn't take very many pictures. I know y'all are thankful, ha! We opened more presents, and had some amazing tenderloin for dinner (thanks, Dad). Then we played a game (that got kind of crazy) and drank the rest of the night, ha!

For our fourth and final Christmas, we celebrated with Brandon's parents (and the cousins, of course!).

If you're still there after all that, then you are a very loyal reader. All our Christmases were WONDERFUL, and I think I'm still in shock that it's already come and gone.
