On a sad note, Brandon's sweet Nana passed away on Monday night. Please keep his family in your prayers. I feel so blessed to have known her, and extra blessed that Presley was able to know her, as well.

6 month stats

Well, the stats are in! Looks like Miss P is trucking right along the middle.

Height:25 3/4in (5oth%)
Weight:15.7lbs (25th-50th%)
Head:43.5cm (25th%)

I was shocked to find out P's weight percentile! I guess those chunkalicious thighs aren't quite as chunkalicious as I thought. Anyway, little P is doing great and looking as healthy as can be. Of course, we got the dreaded round of vaccines, yuck! P did so wonderful though. Her face turned tomato red as it always does, and she cried for a few seconds...and then...A SMILE. Hooray! On another note, if you have met my daughter, you know she is a busy girl. This was confirmed by her doctor today. I believe her exact words were "Wow, she's a busy girl". "Tell ME about it", was my reply. Our pediatrician thinks this has a lot to do with why P fights sleep so hard (and by hard, I mean screaming her head off for a REALLY long time). She just has trouble winding herself down. Anywhoo, the doc recommended I start putting her to bed earlier, so I guess I'm going to start tonight. We shall see. Well, I'm off to attempt to wrangle my ever moving child, and bake the hubs a birthday cake at the same time. Just in case anyone is interested, I would like a third arm for MY birthday...which is in October...on the 18th...okay I'm done.

Almost done...Remember if you are entering the giveaway to leave a separate comment for each one that you are entitled ex: I'm following your blog (1 comment), I would buy the Dallas cowboys onesie (1 comment). I don't want anyone missing out! Good luck!

Happy Independence Day!

Presley's first 4th was a success! My sister, brother in law and nephew drove up from Houston to spend the holiday with us. We had planned on going to "Que fest" all day on the 4th, but when we got there it was closed because of possible thunderstorms. Ummm...the day was beautiful and there wasn't a cloud insight...I'm just sayin. Anyhoo, we all kind of looked at each other wondering what we were going to do with the rest of our day. My brother in law, Justin, came up with a genious idea. Slip-N-Slide. I just so happen to have the perfect backyard for it. In fact, I'm pretty sure that it was designed just for a slip-n-slide. So us Momma's sent the Daddy's to the store, and instead of coming home with a traditional slipe-n-slide...they surprised us with a big blue tarp and baby shampoo?? I guess they had something bigger, better and a tad more ghetto in mind.

We spent the rest of the day slipping and sliding, literally. Then ended it with some takeout pizza, smores, fireworks and dancing...with sparklers.

Happy 4th of July!
(and yes, P did have 3 fourth of July outfits. If you think that's bad, wait until Christmas.)

Mama Needs a Break

As I was laying on the table about to get a long overdue eyebrow/lip wax...Well, wait... Lets be honest here. It had been so long, it was more like a mustache wax. A mustache that could rival any man's five o'clock shadow. Anyway, back to the laying down part. As I was laying on the table getting teeny tiny hairs ripped from my skin, all I could think was "this is Heaven". Then, as she got to the end, I found myself wishing for more hair on my face so I could lay there just a little bit longer. That's when I realized, "Mama needs a break"!
