Little girls are precious gifts, Wrapped in love serene. Their dresses tied with sashes And futures tied with dreams.

Dear baby girl,

We are so excited to finally know what you are! It's hard to believe that the first time we saw you, you looked like this
We were shocked to see how much you've grown already! You were dancing around in my tummy, performing quite well for all to see. I have a feeling, you little one, are not going to be camera shy. I must say that even though your tiny face isn't quite developed, I have yet to see one sweeter than this.
After performing for your Grandmothers, you must have gotten tired because we got to see a few yawns, as well.
And even a little thumb sucking. We could have watched you all day long, but your Mommy and Daddy can take a hint. So sweet baby girl, we've made it almost halfway through this journey together. It won't be long before your here, and we couldn't be more excited! You are so loved already.

Love,
Your Mommy and Daddy

More Peas, Please!

I just have to share my latest food obsession. I was first introduced to these amazing little treats at my parents house. At first, I didn't want to taste them because they look like dried green peas and who wants to eat that? Well, when I found out that they were made with wasabi (I heart wasabi), I couldn't resist. Unfortunately, that one little pea has turned into a complete addiction. I guess I could be stuffing my face with worse things. However, I'm afraid if I don't slow down my consumption, I'm going to give birth to a green baby.

Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be,... - Robert Browning

Brandon turned the big two-seven on July 9th, and we had quite the celebration. First, I love it when it's Brandon's birthday because we are the same age for about 3 months. Then I go back to being the older woman ( I digress...). Anyway, this birthday was really special because some of our closest friends traveled very far to celebrate with us. We were also able to have a lot of family there, one of the many perks to being back in Texas.

In this picture, Brady decided to randomly start singing the birthday song. Everyone came running in from outside and joined in because they thought it was time to blow out the candles. We never did officially sing the birthday song to Brandon, so thanks for the impromptu version, Brady!

The Perkins' drove all the way in from San Angelo. Aren't they the cutest family!?!

Brooke took the whole weekend off of work and drove in from Houston to celebrate.

Brady showing off his "baby bump" (not too bad). He also made it from San Diego, CA! Woo hoo!

And what kind of party would this be without Sam and his 40 oz.?

The birthday boy (excuse me...birthday man) and I.

Of course, we couldn't end the night without some Rock Band.

Happy Birthday to the younger man in my life.

Happy Independence Day!

First, let me begin by saying, "I love the 4th of July". That being said, Brandon and I decided to spend it in Houston (my parents pool may or may not have been a little extra incentive).
On Friday, the girls (+ Jackson) decided to head to Galveston for some beach time and shopping. The boys, however, decided to sweat it out on the golf course (crazy? I think so).

Jackson's first time at the beach! I know he doesn't look particularly excited here, but he really loved it...I promise.

He did not enjoy the sand touching his knees, so this was his solution.

Here is the whole group, enjoying the Galveston water. Personally, I think it looks like a giant ocean of tea but had a blast none the less.

The nicest man offered to take a picture of everyone together. We gladely accepted and decided since we were about to leave that we would give them our rented umbrella and chairs. The minute we packed up Galveston patrol came and told the nice man that they would have to pay. Well, so much for our return favor to him. We got a good picture, though.

Saturday (the actual 4th of July) was spent lounging in my parents pool. Well, most of us were lounging. My Mom was too busy getting things for dinner to actually relax, and Dad was doing all the grilling. In fact, Dad made some of the best ribs I've ever had!
(I know it looks like Justin is picking his nose in this pick, but he isn't.)

Even the dog got in on the action.
