5 months!

My sweet angel is five months old today! Seriously, I am really going to keep this short today. I have a strict rule about not blogging on weekends. I try and soak up as much family time as possible which means staying far away from the computer!

Anyhoo, back to the most precious little babe in the world! She has been doing some pretty exciting things!!! For one, she is now in her crib. I know....ridiculous that it took this long. She has also officially been on almost every form of transportation. My mother in law, P and I all took a trip to Georgia to visit my sister in law where Miss Priss went on a plane, a bus, and a train! This little lady is also sitting up for about a minute at a time. In fact, she could be screaming her head off and all I have to do is sit her up because this new view point thrills her! And...this kind of scares me....she is starting to scoot (she gets her knees under her and pushes with her feet)!!!! If you know anything about P, you know she never stops moving. I should have known this might start early. Speaking of moving, she has become a rolling fool. I literally looked away for 2 seconds the other day, and she had rolled herself half way across the living room. Solids have also been introduced in this household. The cereal was a big fat fail, so I just said screw it and gave her pears. Oh my was she in Heaven! I'm going to continue to introduce one new food a week in case of unforeseen food allergies. This baby also loves the water. Well, water that is not cold. She wasn't terribly fond of the cold ocean water while we were in Georgia. Also, I need to confess. I wanted a pic of P sitting up at the beach, and she face planted during our photo shoot. I'm talking sand up the nose kind of a face plant. I'm a horrible Mommy:( I digress...she also has a baby pool that has a shade over the top, so I don't have to worry about her burning. She would stay in it all day if I let her. Last, but not least, Prissy loves giving kisses. No friends, not just any kisses. Big, wet, eat your face kind of kisses. Mommy particularly loves this (even if she really is just trying to eat my face)!

Right, well, so much for keeping this short. Happy 5 months to my sweet precious smiley baby!

Also, since I can't upload new pics, I'll have to put up her 5 month pic later. I guess these will have to do for now:)

We love you, Sweet P.

One Wedding, A Graduation and NO Pictures

A picture is worth a thousand words, so I had planned on letting them do all the talking. However, something is wrong with my photo editor and won't let me rotate the photo's. I was also given an incredible gift from my Dad. He surprised me with the new Canon Rebel, and I am in love. Unfortunately, because of the picture quality, I have no more disk space on my computer. Therefore, until I get this problem fixed, I won't be able to post any pics. Boo! I'm working on this ASAP. I do have a few from my sister's wedding, but Not a lot from my brother's graduation. Now, without further ado...

My sister is no longer a Cain. She is now officially Mrs. Wilcox!!! There isn't much to say except that the wedding was amazingly beautiful and soooo much fun! Kind of makes me want to get married all over again.... same groom, of course! Congrats Melissa and Justin!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, a huge congratulations to my brother, Ryan! He is officially an Aggie Alumni. However, he isn't done yet. He was accepted into the commercial real estate Master's program at A&M. AND... if you know my family, you are about to be shocked at what we are wearing. Yes, my die hard Longhorn family are decked out in Maroon. Presley threw up everywhere that night and were pretty sure it was all the Aggie gear making her sick.

Cereal VS. Presley

I'll let you determine the winner.

Bathing Beauty

While in Houston for my sister's wedding, Miss P was able to have her first experience in the swimming pool. I was exceptionally excited because I couldn't wait to get her in her BIKINI!!!! The pool water was a little cold, so she wasn't much of a fan. However, we heated the hot tub until it was luke warm and Presley loved it. I can't wait for more pool time this summer.

Is that a cute baby booty or what?!?

I still haven't blogged about two very important events, but they are coming soon...I hope! My sister's wedding and my little brother's graduation!!!! This past week was filled with some major family events, and I have a ton of pictures that need to be uploaded. However, it might be another week before I get around to it because P and I are leaving for Georgia in two days to visit my sister in law!

4 Month Check Up

Well, the stats are in! Miss Priss is weighing in at 13 lbs. 11 ounces (50th percentile) and is 24.5 inches long (between the 50-75th percentile). Her head has also moved up into the 5oth percentile. Woo Hoo! She used to have a very tiny head! Everything else looks great! The shots, however, did not go so well. She did AMAZING at her 2 month appointment, so I wasn't terribly worried about this one. My poor baby's face got redder then I have ever seen it when she got her vaccines. I was seriously concerned she might explode. She didn't for those that were wondering. Then it took about ten minutes to get her calmed down. After that, she was as happy as ever until later that evening. She started getting a tiny bit fussy, but nothing that concerned me. I put her to bed for the night and she woke up screaming bloody murder at midnight. This continued almost every 2 hours the...ENTIRE...night...

I hope her next round of vaccines go a little smoother for her.

and just because... here are some recent pics of P:

I think her choice of hand under chin pose suits her well.

4 Months!

My sweet little Presley is four months old!

I am absolutely loving this age. She laughs and smiles all the time, and is such a happy baby. My favorite part of the day is waking up to her constant babble. She just lays in bed and talks to herself until I come and get her. When she sees me she squeals with excitement, and that my friends, is even better than coffee in the morning!
I can't believe how much she is doing now. I have to be really careful because she grabs at everything I have and is usually pretty successful at getting her hands on it. The other day she knocked over my drink and my salad. I guess that's what I get for letting her sit in my lap while I ate lunch. She also puts everything in her mouth. As soon as I hand her something, straight to the mouth it goes. Her hands are also in her mouth about 99% of the time.
P has discovered her feet and likes to grab hold of them, as well. She still hasn't rolled from her back to her tummy, but is getting so close. If she would just move her arm then she would be able to do it. The problem is she has no desire to move her arm. It's in the perfect position for her to suck on. She is also able to sit tripod style for a little while before she topples over.
I think I may have a talker on my hands. She pretty much babbles, coo's, and squeals throughout the day. I love hearing her baby voice. It's so sweet! She is also starting to go to bed around 9:30-10 instead of 11 and usually wakes up around 8-8:30am. Hallelujah! I'm going to stop writing because I could go on and on. I just don't want to forget a single thing. I feel like she is growing so fast!
Okay, okay, just a few more things than I'm done...I promise!
* She arches her back when I put her in her car seat or bed and doesn't want to be in it.
*loves to "walk" (we hold her up and she takes tiny steps)
*Is now in size 1-2 diapers
*Wears 3-6 months for the most part, but can still squeeze into some 0-3
*Gets very frustrated and screams when she can't get her toy to do what she wants it to.
*Is nursing almost every 3 hours, but every now and then gets a hungry a little sooner. This usually happens when we are in the middle of a mall...far away from any place that I can feed her.
*Diaper changes are super hard because she likes to hold both her feet in her hands. As soon as I get one hand free from her foot, she grabs it right back.
*Is always trying to pull herself up into sitting position when I lay her on the boppy or in her car seat.
*Taking a good picture is becoming a challenge. Now when she grins she curls into a ball. I need a faster camera.
Right...I get it...I'm stopping.

Did I mention I'm crazy for this little girl??

OK, now I'm done!
