What's Happening at 15 Months?

Technically, Miss Priss turned 15 months on the 29th, but we had our well visit today. Here are her current percentages:

Weight: 20.11 lbs/ 9%
Height: 30.5 inches/ 45%
Head: I forgot and they never write it down anymore.

Looks like she's still my little petite princess. Please don't let her size fool you. She has attitude personality the size of Texas. We are going through a bit of a rough phase right now. She is testing me a lot, starting to throw more fits, and is not napping. This has only been going on for a week and a half, but it feels like an eternity. The good news is I had a long talk with my pediatrician, and I feel so much better about the whole thing. I LOVE my pediatrician!!!

Presley has also been struggling with constipation since she started whole milk. Because of her tiny size, we cant afford to cut out anymore milk, so she is taking a half dose of Miralax everyday starting today. I'm praying this works because it's awful to see her in pain.

Presley also still struggles with sleep. She still cries every time we lay her down for nap or bedtime. Most of the time it's just for a minute, but sometimes it's a little more dramatic. She just doesn't like to stop. She has been that way since she was born. The good news is once she's asleep, she sleeps all night (unless she's constipated..please work, miralax). It's really time for her to get better about going to bed, so we're are enforcing a strict schedule. Sometimes she sleeps until 8, 9, or even 10. Ahhhh...love this, but it's over. I'll be getting her up the same time everyday, and putting her down to nap the same time. I love to go to lunch with my friends or meet Brandon, but her sleep habits are more important. That's going to have to stop for now since her new CONSISTENT nap time will be noon (yuck)! We are also starting to role play with her dolly. We give her hugs and kisses and tuck her in. We tell the dolly "night-night" and then praise the dolly for going to bed like a big girl. Hopefully, all of this will help. Her one year molars are finally starting to come in, so this is also causing some sleep issues.

Enough with the serious stuff! Here's some of the fun things Miss P has been up to:
  • Presley is talking a ton. She says new words every day, and I am constantly impressed with how much she absorbs. Her new favorite words are: Shower, turtle, flower, socks, hat, hot (then we blow on whatever it is), open (which she pronounces "Ebby"), outside, Elmo, cracker, Night night (maybe not her favorite, but she says it alot), and thank you
  • She loves making animal sounds especially barking, mooing, and quacking. If you ask what an animal says, she will usually tell you.
  • She loves to try and dress/ undress herself. She even attempts to put on her diaper, which is hilarious to watch.
  • She is a kissing and hugging machine. Every time she's around her friends she is usually kissing or hugging them until they cry.
  • She is showing signs of jealousy. When I pick up my friends babies, she cries or pushes them away from me. Sometimes I like to torture her with this;)
  • A dancing fool
  • Really really loves to be around people and kids. She's very social, and waves to everyone!
That's a long enough post for now. Crazy my baby is 15 months already. Sass, attitude, personality or what have you...I sure am blessed to have her in my life!

Nap Time

I love nap time.

Not for me.Although, that would be nice. It's a time for me to get as much done as i possibly can before Presley comes through like a tiny tornado and undoes half of it.

Unfortunately, it seems Presley is no longer interested in napping at all. We dropped our afternoon nap a few months ago, and have been down to one nap a day. She would typically sleep 1.5 to 2 hours. Fine...no problem. I can handle the one nap.

What I can't handle is no nap at all...

I put her down and 15 minutes later, she's up. Today it lasted a whole 22 minutes.

What is going on?? Is it already possible for her to be phasing out naps altogether? For sanity's sake, I usually leave her in her crib for at least an hour. Then I get her up, and guess what? She's super cranky all day! This has only been going on a little over a week, and I feel like I might go a tad crazy.

I know I've mentioned this before, but I generally have Presley from the time she wakes up until she goes to bed...and then I'm up with her anytime she wakes up during the night. Brandon works crazy ours and isn't around a lot during the weekdays. I'm not mentioning this because I want sympathy. I don't! I just don't have a lot of extra time to get anything else done. Which is why I might go into mourning, if naps are finished.

Oh my, I really loved nap time...

Finding the Time...

Well folks,

I finally have time to sit down and write a post, and of course, our Internet is down. Geeze! I was really hoping to blog all about the shower I threw for my sister in law ( back in februray),our trip to Houston, My friends engagement party etc. I guess I could write about them, but I really really want to have pics with my post. Therefore, they will get pushed back with the millions of other things that I still have yet to write about. One day, I will find the time!

Next weekend we are celebrating my grandmother's 90th birthday, so I'll probably be away for awhile again. 90, can you believe it?!? I feel so blessed to have such an amazing woman in my life. She really is amazing, by the way. She works out more than I do. Anywhoo, I'm off to be put on hold by our Internet provider for the next 30 minutes.

Happy Friday!

Houston, We have a Problem!

Please note the sweet innocent face below.

Do you know what this sweet baby has been saying lately???

F*** YOU.

Yep. I almost fell out of my chair the first time I heard her say it. We were having dinner at the neighbors and my friend, Secily,  put a green bean on Presley's plate. Presley  looked at it,  held it up towards Secily and said "F*** you". I thought I was going to die! She has said it two more times since then, and I can't for the life of me figure out what she is trying to say???

Now, I have said my fair share of  bad words, but I have never said "F*** you" in front of her or at all (at least not recently, ha!) for that matter.

What am I going to do with this girl???

"I do, I do"!

Presley loves books.

Momma loves books.

I used to read a ridiculous amount of books before Presley was born. I'm embarrassed to admit that I have probably read only one book this entire year. Now, I can barely get through a page before falling asleep. I'm still getting lots of reading time in though.

When Presley wakes up, she requests two things "book" and "eat"...and usually in that order. I love that she loves books. It's even more fun now that she is interacting with me when we read. She has recently started repeating some of the repetitive phrases out of her stories. Oh, this makes my heart happy.

Here is a little video of  her reading her current favorite book (thanks, Grammie). Please pardon my appearance. I just woke up after being up until 4am with Presley, and it's a little scary.

If anyone is interested, the book is "Tuck Me In" by Dean Hacohen & Sherry Scharschmidt

14 Months: the GOOD, the Bad, the UGLY

My baby is 14 months today.

HOLY. MOLY.

Let's start with the GOOD, shall we?

  • Presley is the life of the party. Her personality lights up our entire house...and hearts.
  • She has more expressions than I can count, and I love every single one.
  • She never stops talking. Never.
  • She loves to "boss" the animals around.
  • She gives lots of kisses, and knows when to use it to her advantage. As soon as I get on to her, she plants a huge kiss right smack on my lips. I mean, what's a Mom to do??
  • Her favorite word right now is "outside". I probably hear it 1,000 times a day. Thank goodness this weather has improved.
  • She's a dancing queen, and is currently into doing turns.
  • Loves animals.Unless it's a dog running full speed towards her (but that's neither here nor there).
  • She enjoys naming body parts, and then touching said "part". I get poked in the eyes and nose a lot.
  • Presley is a social butterfly. She loves to be around kids and adults. She is constantly waving, and blowing kisses to anyone (looking or not).

The Bad:
  • She is beginning to test me when I tell her no.
  • She also likes to tell me "NO". I don't think so, little lady (it's kinds cute though).
  • Since we have started whole milk, she has been very constipated. Suggestions welcome!
  • We are officially down to one nap. It's not really bad, but the extra break was welcome after hours of running after Presley.
  • She is currently into taking thing out.  It would be great if she was as excited about putting things back up.
  • She used to eat anything and everything, but is starting to get  picky.
  • She has a new face that she makes, and it is a very MEAN face. At first, I thought it was funny, but then she started doing it to strangers. It's kind of embarrassing.
  • She no longer enjoys taking a bath. In fact, she wont bend her knees when I put her in. Therefore, she baths standing up, while I hold onto her.
  •  Repeats her self over and over and over and over when she wants something. For Example,  "eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat, eat" or "more, more, more, more, more" or " wawa, wawa, wawa, wawa, wawa".  Ummm,  wow!

The UGLY:
Oh come one, did you really think I had anything to put here?
