Harper: 3 Months

At 3 Months, Harper is:
  • Cooing and babbling so much. When she wakes up, she just lays in bed and talks to herself until I get her.
  • Reaching for toys/objects and able to grab hold of them.
  • Wearing size 1-2 diapers
  • in 3-6 and 6 month clothes
  • Nursing every 3 hours.
  • Sleeps from 10:30pm to 7 or 8am. Then goes back to sleep until 9:30-10.
  • Is rapidly balding (but still has a large clump of thick hair in the back).
  • Her eyes are getting lighter blue by the day
  • Screams when she gets mad. Not crying screaming, just a legit scream.
  • is the happiest baby. She smiles all the time!!!
  • has started laughing.
  • Loves to suck on blankets, her dresses/shirts, and her hands
  • Has gotten a lot better about not needing to be held all the time.
  • absolutely adores her big sister.
  • Really likes music. If she gets really upset, I stick my iPod next to her ear and she calms right down.
  • is not a huge fan of the car, but always falls asleep after a while.
  • Snores (I suspect this is partly due to her acid reflux, but am still going to get her checked out).
  • is my little chunky monkey. Home girls got some rolls!
  • Loves standing up. She gets such an excited look on her face.
Oh my goodness, I love my sweet baby girl so so much!!!  Harper Grace, You have been such a ray of sunshine. I can't wait to see all you will be doing next month.

Sunday Phone Dump

Seriously, I give up. I'm just going to dump my photo's whenever, and maybe one day it will actually fall on a Friday.

Big Baby Blues

Blogger keeps turning this upside down for some reason??? Anyway, Presley started putting toys all around Harper's head. Can you find her in there?

My Mom offered to have a maid come in and give our house a good deep clean. It was the best present ever! We spent the day at the Museum of Science, so we could get out of their way.

Cuddling in bed before Daddy heads off to work.

My friend/neighbor came back in town, so Harper got some good social time in with sweet Ava.

Sisters!

My parents brought these PJ's back from their trip to Alcatraz. I think they are so cute on H, and apparently so does she.

Spin class with the babies. We thought this looked so funny. Aline of babies rocking on their rock-on's.

Matching Beco's!

Sister cuddle time at Mimi and Daddy Bob's.

My Aunt Mary with Miss H at my nephew's birthday party.

My nephew's (Jackson) other Aunt had a baby the week before me, and we were able to meet her. Harper was so happy to have a friend.

Miss Priss with Jackson's birthday gear on.

and my sweet 4 year old nephew. I CAN'T believe he is FOUR!!!

Happy birthday, sweet boy.
This was such a busy, but super fun week. Now we are off to the lake for our annual Cain family Vacay! With two children, I should probably refer to it more as strip than a vacation though.

My Little Fish

Sometimes God calms the storm.  At other times, he calms the sailor.  And sometimes he makes us swim.  ~Author Unknown

Presley had her first experience with swim lessons last week. I think it was quite an experience for both her and her teacher. Presley is extremely chatty, so Ms. Alyssa had her work cut out for her. Trying to get Presley to be quiet enough to put her face in the water was a challenge.

Presley did so great though! The first day she woke up at 7am (which is way early for her) asking if it was time for her lessons. She did, however, get pretty upset during her first lesson when she realized I wasn't going to be in the pool with her. Ms. Alyssa was so sweet and patient, and eventually Presley got over it.

Ms. Alyssa said Presley was one of the most relaxed kids she has taught when it came to floating on her back. Apparently, kids don't like it when water covers their ears. I was just happy to hear Presley was relaxed about something. That word and Presley aren't often in the same sentence together.

Floating on her back (Presley requested the goggles. They were NOT a requirement).

Blowing bubbles or as Presley calls it, "talking like a dolphin".

Kicks, arms, and putting it all together.

I took a ton of video, but will spare you. Here's just one that I thought was cute. Presley told Ms. Alyssa that blowing bubbles in the water is how a dolphin talks, so that's what she is referring to in the video.

Rockin' and a Rollin'

Even though Harper has been rolling over for a while now, I finally thought to catch it on video. Sorry, my poor second child.

{HUGE} Friday Phone Dump

We had a great week in Houston with a mini trip to Galveston thrown in the middle. Needless to say, I took a TON of pictures.

Harper chilaxin by the pool at Mimi and Daddy Bob's.

My sister and I had a date night with Presley and Harper. It involved sushi, sake, and dessert at Ooh La La Dessert Boutique. I'm never going to get the rest of this baby weight off...

Poor Presley's bangs were so long, it was affecting her vision. I finally got her a haircut. Good news is she can see again. Bad news is I really dislike the way her bangs were cut. Oh well, I guess they'll grow.

Debuting her super short, blunt bangs and licking the spatula from a yummy pinterest recipe!

She was a little too quite for a little too long. Oops! Found her in Mimi's makeup.

While in Houston, We had a happy hour with some of my friends . We were able to have a few drinks and they got to meet Harper.

Then we headed out to Galveston for a trip to the beach. Of course, the girls had to have matching beach outfits thanks to Mimi.

But first, we had to stop at my Aunts on the way out. Harper and sweet baby Lyla.

Almost to Galveston! I see palm trees...

We made it! Mimi with the girls.

Presley loved looking out at the beach from the balcony. It made me a nervous wreck though.

After a long day at the pool and the beach, we made our way to Rainforest cafe. We had so much fun, and ended the night with a chocolate lava cake.

Ready for bed.

We stayed at the San Luis, and they have a talking parrot that Presley befriended.

More Play time at the beach. Presley was completely in her element ,while Harper preferred the pool.

Anxiously awaiting more time at the beach.

And this is what a whole morning at the beach will do to ya...

One more week and we are off to Horseshoe Bay for our Cain family Vacay!
