31

This year, I celebrated my 31st birthday! I'm still in a bit of shock that I'm not just 30, but officially IN my 30's now. However, this birthday, I feel more blessed and grateful than ever. I got to celebrate with my little family of 4, my friends, and squeezed in a special date with the husband.

On my birthday morning, I woke up to flowers and cards from my loves. We didn't get in a lot of time to celebrate because Presley had to be at MDO and I had to get to spin.

Later that afternoon, I was surprised with a flower delivery from my family. The flowers looked so much like a real birthday cake that Presley was kind of disappointed we couldn't actually eat it.

My birthday was on a Thursday, but I wanted Brandon to take Friday off. I was going out with my girls, and thought I might need an extra hand the next morning, Ha! Plus, I wanted a whole day with the family at the fair.
Before I went out, we had a mini celebration with my little ladies. Presley was sooooo excited about getting to help light and blow out the candles.

And one of my favorite birthday presents was this picture right here. Why??? Because Both girls are looking at the camera and smiling. It was a birthday miracle!

After cake, I headed out to Edo Japan for some hot saki with the girls. We closed the place down, literally.

My birthday celebration continued into the next day with the fair, and a date night with the hubs. Brandon took me out to dinner on the lake, and then to see Cirque Du Soleil (Kooza). It was an awesome show, and the perfect end to my 31st birthday.

State Fair (2012)

As part of my birthday, I requested Brandon take off work so we could all go to the fair. Like the wonderful husband he is, he obliged. I think we both ended up having way more fun then we imagined. Both girls were amazing, the weather was great, and the fair wasn't near as crowded as I thought it was going to be. The only bad thing I have to say about the day was Big Tex burned down 20 minutes before we got there.

R.I.P Big Tex

Headed out. With our diva sunglasses on, of course.

We rode lots of rides. Presley has no fear. No. Fear. She tried to convince us that she needed to ride the giant ferris wheel all by herself. Homegirl does not take after me in that department.

Got suckered into wasting our money on games.

Pet and fed lots of animals.

Presley turned into Farmer P, and was able to do all kinds fun farming activities. This was such an adorable hands on part of the fair. And not to brag, but how precious does she look with her little bucket and apron??

We ate lots of fried food. This is my fried pecan pie and it was soooo yum!

I know I already dedicated a whole post to the face painting, but I just couldn't resist putting in a few more pictures.

This is how the day ended. Presley was wiped out. Sweet girl!

I'm not sure we will be able to top this trip to the State fair, but we're going to, for sure, try next year.

Wordless Wednesday: Hello Kitty

So this isn't really wordless Wednesday, more like less-words Wednesday. Last Friday, we went to the state fair as part of my birthday and had the best time. I have the full blog post coming up soon. The face painting was probably my favorite part of the whole day.

Right now, Presley is all about Hello, Kitty and didn't hesitate one second when she got to pick what she wanted on her face. Brandon tried to talk her out of it because they had some really awesome options, but her mind was made.

When it was her turn, I was worried about her sitting still. The child did not move a muscle. In fact, we thought she had fallen asleep during part of it because she was so still.

The painting:

The best part was the big reveal. As a parent, this was one of those "I love this child so much I think my heart might burst" moments. Watching her see her face for the first time was absolutely priceless! This time I had no problem getting a real smile out of her.
The Reveal:

Isn't she the cutest Hello Kitty you've ever seen!?!

Pumpkin Patch Mania

We have literally hit up so many pumpkin patches in the past few weeks that it's just too many to post about individually. Here is a big picture post of most of our visits. If you've been pumpkin deprived, you're about to get your fill!
